Armored Fiber Cables with Expanded Beam Connectors
Rugged Fiber Connectivity for Harsh Environments
Expanded beam fiber optic connectors are designed for applications where
conventional physical-contact fiber connectors can be vulnerable to dirt,
dust, moisture, vibration and repeated mating cycles.
Unlike traditional fiber connectors that bring polished fiber ends into
physical contact, expanded beam technology uses precision optical lenses
to expand and transmit the light beam across a small air gap. Because the
critical optical surfaces do not touch during mating, the connector is
more resistant to contamination and wear.
Built for Field Deployment
Expanded beam assemblies are particularly well suited for
military, tactical, broadcast, industrial, mining,
transportation and outdoor communications where fiber cables
may be connected and disconnected repeatedly under demanding conditions.
High resistance to dust, dirt and moisture
No physical contact between fiber end faces
Excellent durability through repeated mating cycles
Easier field cleaning than conventional fiber termini
Rugged performance in demanding outdoor environments
Singlemode and multimode configurations
TacticalFiber Expanded Beam Cable Assemblies
TacticalFiber supplies rugged expanded beam fiber optic cable assemblies
in a variety of fiber counts, connector configurations and cable lengths
for temporary deployment and permanent installations.
